<B>Lincoln & Hamlin: A Sought After Currier "Grand National Banner" Jugate Campaign Print.</B></I> Currier began this popular series in 1844 and issued jugate prints in this size, but in varying styles for every presidential ticket through 1876. They are among the most highly prized political display items of this era, with several varieties now fetching prices of over $10,000. Not surprisingly, the Lincoln & Hamlin is one of the most sought after issues. The present example is in what is probably its original wood frame. There is some moderate soiling and one light water stain in the bottom border, and another small, moderate water stain, partially on Lincoln's portrait. When viewing this piece, ones eye is not drawn to these imperfections and it retains overall a very pleasing display presence.
