Power of attorney document in which Smith and his wife are granting power of attorney to Colonel Joseph R. Smith, regarding certain of their property holdings in the State of Michigan. A verification form dated on April 18, 1865 being attached along the bottom edge. Document also bears two fifty-cent revenue stamps affixed to the left edge. Archivally repaired central horizontal fold, scattered moderate toning and soiling, as well as creasing and wrinkling, otherwise very good condition.
