Announcing a change in the honor guard to accompany the body of Abraham Lincoln, who had died seven days earlier, to his final resting place at Springfield, Illinois. Reads, "...Brevet Brigadier-General James A. Ekin, Quartermaster's Department, U.S. Army, is detailed as one of the Guard of Honor appointed in General Orders, No. 72, of April 20th, 1865, in place of Brevet Brigadier General Charles Thomas...who is hereby relieved..."
