Lincoln assassination letter, dated 5 August 1900, from A.C. Richards, Metropolitan Police Superintendent involved in tracking down the conspirators, to Louis Weichmann, chief prosecution witness at the conspirators' trial. Richards refers to a Dr. Porter's claim to be the ''only commissioned officer'' at John Wilkes Booth's burial. Richards writes to Weichmann to review events for Weichmann's book on the assassination. 7.75'' x 9.75'' single page letter, written front and verso, is in very good condition.
