Judge advocate in the trial of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination conspiracy and a prosecutor in Andrew Johnson’s impeachment hearings (1815–1900). Bank check, 8.75 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Bingham, “Jno. A. Bingham,” payable to Self for $10.00, July 27, 1893. Check is also endorsed on the reverse, “Jno. A. Bingham.” In very good condition, with several folds and creases, punch holes above signature, light brush to endorsement signature, and some scattered soiling and staining to edges.
