Lincoln 1864 Campaign Badge Worn at His Funeral. This red, white, and blue, star-spangled ribbon is 1.5" x 3.25" and has a gem-sized Lincoln albumen mounted to it. Attached beneath the portrait are the military insignia "D" and "22", this ribbon having been worn by John H. Kenny of "D" Company, 22nd Regiment, National Guard, New York. Also in this lot is a four page black-bordered leaflet: "General Orders No. 9" issued on April 20, 1865, and ordering a parade to "...assist in rendering appropriate honors to the remains of that illustrious Patriot, whose loss, in the hour of victory, the Nation now deplores." These orders have the above-mentioned Kenny's name in pencil on the verso and have some minor folds and edge tears, else very displayable. The badge is in near mint condition. Excellent provenance for this rare item.
