This is a terrific-looking Limoges wall plaque that is featured in The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Third Edition, by Mary Frank Gaston, page 71, plate 123. It measures 10 1/2" top-to-bottom, and features the portrait of a smiling cavalier, tweaking his moustache, with gold trim around the outer rim. It is signed by the artist, L. Coudert, as is the one featured in the book. The condition is very good-to-excellent, with no chips, cracks, scratches, or repairs. There is some minor wear to the gold accent trim around the outer rim, as seen in the close up photo example. Stamped on the back with the manufacturer's mark identified as the Mavaleix mark, found in use from about 1908 to 1914. Also stamped with an overglaze decorating mark identified as George Borgfeldt (Coronet) Mark #1, found in use from about 1906 to 1920.
