<td width="100%">
Wonderful old hand painted Limoges tankard depicting a well-executed friar offering a toast, as he prepares to have a bite to eat down in the wine cellar. Stands 13" tall. Condition is very good-to-excellent, with no chips, cracks, or repairs to the porcelain. Minor wear to the gold accent trim around the top rim, and two extremely minor "flakes" to the paint, as seen in the closeup photos. Stamped with Jean Pouyat Mark #5, found in use from about 1890 to 1932.
