Limelight Original World Premiere Program & Chaplin Signature
Chaplin's masterpiece "Limelight" (1952) is considered to be his most autobiographical and personal work. Disregarding his "Tramp" character he has become Calvero a fading comedian near the end of his life, that is, until he meets Thereza (Claire Bloom), a young ballerina who also is feeling her life is over. However they join forces and find new meaning to their lives. This is an extremely rare piece of Chaplin memorabilia. It is the original World Premiere Program to "Limelight", dated October 16th, 1952, at the Odeon Theater in Leicester Square, London. It is in excellent condition. This alone would be a great piece, however it also includes Charlie Chaplin's signature on the program which he gave to a fan on the night of the premiere. It also includes a Certificate of Authenticity from renowned Autograph expert Herman Darvick. This specially made COA has been created specifically for this item, and includes both Darvick's signature and special seal.
