(Disney, 1950) This is the original mechanical design artwork for Walt Disney's backyard Lilly Belle locomotive. Titled "Walt Disney's Lilly Belle Engine" in the bottom-right corner, this stunning original pencil drawing was created for Walt by Eddie Sargeant of the Walt Disney Studios machine shop. Accomplished in black, red, blue, and yellow pencils on a large sheet of thin vellum, the drawing includes numerous notes, intricate design details, and the necessary information used in the creation of Walt's iconic locomotive, the Lilly Belle. It is difficult to imagine a drawing more significant to the history of the Carolwood Pacific Railroad, or one that so well captures the visage of the Lilly Belle itself, than this original artwork. Measuring approximately 62"x25" within a 38.5"x75" frame, the impressive artwork is in fair condition with wear throughout from use, including chips and small tears at the corners, and a large thin tear through the right edge. This item may require special shipping arrangements, please inquire for details and estimates.
