Life Less Ordinary SFX Frames
Truly one of the most unusual special effects items ever offered! From Danny Boyle's fanciful "A Life Less Ordinary" (1997), these are the three huge effects frames, representing Ewan McGregor's sweater-covered chest, heart and rib bones. Throughout the film, Robert (Ewan MacGregor) has had recurring dreams of having his life saved by being shot through the heart by an "arrow of love." Taking a leap of faith, Celine (Cameron Diaz) shoots Robert through the heart. These three large frames were used so that a special camera representing a bullet could actually pass through both his sweater, and into his body, passing right through his heart and ribs without harming him. These three extra large frames are made of heavy duty metal so as to withstand the impact of the camera lens. The first frame is made of special wool fabric to match Ewan's sweater, the second is made of latex, and painted to look like the tissue of his heart and the third made of foam rubber to represent his ribs. The second frame has been repaired in the back, so that they could do a second take if needed. (Each frame is approx. 40"x28")
