Flown .75è x 1è section of the neck dam from Gus Grissom‰Ûªs pressure suit, which he wore inside the Liberty Bell 7 spacecraft for his historic Mercury-Redstone 4 mission on July 21, 1961. The neck dam piece is mounted to a presentation sheet prepared by Ricky Lanclos of Space Artifacts, which reads: ‰ÛÏThis is to certify that this swatch of latex rubber is from the neck dam of Grissom‰Ûªs MR-4 Mercury Pressure Suit. It was taken from the neck dam when the suit was returned to Langley in late July, 1961.‰Û Matted and framed to an overall size of 10.75 x 13.25. In fine condition. Accompanied by a copy of a letter of authenticity from Thomas F. Gallagher, a Project Mercury space suit technician.
