Leviathan Screen Used Miniature Tri-Oceanic Corp Underwater Suit
Leviathan Screen Used Miniature Tri-Oceanic Corp Underwater Suit One of the most successful in the "Alien" and "The Thing" inspired horror genre films was 1989's "Leviathan", directed by action master George P. Cosmatos. In this version, deep-sea miners encounter a sunken Soviet ship and bring aboard a "cargo" that turns into a genetic mutation that hunts them down one by one. Besides the Stan Winston created monster, one of the highlights of this edge-of-your-seat feature was the elaborate underwater pressure suits crated by Perpetual Motion Pictures, that they wore. More of a "tank" than a wet-suit, it contained a myriad of weapons and tools, with an inside read-out that allowed them to control every aspect of their environment. Virtually none of the complex underwater sequences were actually shot under water, but rather in a sound-stage with both actors, and a great deal of motion-control model work as well as some in-studio water tanks. This is one of the actual hero screen used painstakingly detailed "Tri-Oceanic Corp" underwater pressured suits. They appear throughout the film, including the opening sequences, the water-tank elevator sequences, and especially at the end, when the surviving crew members abounded their underwater ship and travel upward in these suits, frantically trying to depressurize before reaching the surface. The suit is cabled between "joints" to allow for extremely natural movement. It was presented to an award winning special effects technician after production, and has been in his personal collection ever since. The mini LED headlights and name-plate LED lights have been removed. This spectacular production miniature comes with a Letter of Provenience. (Approx 12"x10"). This item also comes with a Movie Props DNA: This item now includes three levels of security: 1) DNA laced invisible ink – a 9-digit code laced with DNA ink is placed on an appropriate place of the prop/costume and can be only viewed using a high-frequency UV light. The chances of replicating the specific DNA sequence which is unique to MPDNA is 1 in 33 trillion. 2) Archival Microchip Encrypted Tag - a patented, acid-free, 1"x 3" tag with an encrypted microchip is placed onto the Certificate of Authenticity. The microchip contained within the tag contains all of the pertinent information about the prop or costume. The tag is tamper proof and the microchip is encrypted, making it impossible to duplicate.? 3) The certificate also has the 9-digit DNA invisible ink mark which must match the 9-digit invisible ink mark on the prop. This will ensure that it is a genuine prop issued by Premiere Props and authenticated by MPDNA.
