<B>Levi Lincoln Autograph Letter Signed as Acting Secretary of State</B></I> “<I>Levi Lincoln</B></I>”. One page, 7.75” x 10”, Washington, April 28, 1801, in ink, to George Huntington, New London, Connecticut. In this letter Levi Lincoln, Sr. (1749-1820) seeks to verify the American citizenship of men from Connecticut detained aboard “<I>British Ships of War</B></I>”. Lincoln was a statesmen who served as a Minuteman at the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. The letter has uniformly toned with age but the ink is still bright.
