Lever action carbine in .38-40. Made in 1923. The story is A young Mexican/Americans Great Grandfather reportedly shot this carbine at Pancho Villa when he crossed the border into New Mexico. The rear sight was removed and a Lyman tang sight added during use (after granddad missed). The same family said they used it a lot but couldn't hit anything with it so they kept it in the barn until a friend said it might bring $1500 or more at our auction. The butt stock show classicwestern repairs, and traces of blue in patina with some rust. A neat Winchester carbine used by "the family who couldn't shoot straight". Est.: $750-$1500
