Letter to the Bureau of Ordinance Hydrography, August 9th 1850. Addressed to Samuel Colt, Hartford Connecticut, requesting price and date of delivery for 100 rifles similar in all respects to the ones recently tested by a board of officers at the Washington Naval Yard, signed D.N. Ingraham. Chief of the Bureau. The letter is in good condition. The only rifle we can think of that Colt would have been able to supply in 1850 would have been the Paterson as it predates the Root and any other Colt rifle except a possible experimental. Interesting Colt and martial ephemera. Est: $150 - $300

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
