Letter and Telegram to Clifton Webb from Edward, Duke of Windsor. In writing to his friend Webb, Edward expressed his wishes to lease his home in Jamaica so that he might recoup the money he'd spent on its upkeep, as his neighbor Nol Coward had done -- "Nol has let his for 4 months this winter, for the mme reason!". Also mentioned in the correspondence is Edward's reception in society that season, on which he commented: "I've been to a round of parties... everyone (or nearly everyone) says I look just wonderful!". The letter is written on Edward's letterhead from his Quai D'Orsay office in Paris, along with the original mailing envelope with the Duke of Windsor's watermark ("DW") on its flap. A telegram from Edward to Webb is also included in this lot. Dated December 24, 1930, the telegraph relays Edward's "affectionate Christmas wishes" to Webb and his mother Mabel. Both items are in Very Good to Excellent condition with slight yellowing due to age and original mailing creases.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
