Let It Be (United Artists, 1970). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). Watch it all come down, as Paul tries to pull the disparate remnants of the band together. The center cannot hold, however. Paul argues with George (who can only quietly seethe) about how best to play his guitar part, and a drug-addled John struggles to understand Paul's idea for a song. Michael Lindsay-Hogg's documentary records the Fab Four's final days constructing their notorious and oft-delayed final album. (They recorded "Abbey Road" shortly after these studio sessions, but "Let It Be" required such reworking that it had to be released a year later.) The highlight of the film is their legendary rooftop concert interrupted by London police, a cathartic reminder of the energy of rock and the spirit of the band only briefly recaptured. This glossy lobby set finds the band in melancholic repose as well as excited fits of agitation -- Ringo responding to the crowd, John and George smiling excitedly, the entire band in the studio...with Yoko. The cards look nearly flawless, with no noticeable flaws. Near Mint/Mint.
