Army officer who headed the Manhattan Project to develop the Atomic Bomb (1896–1970). Block of four three-cent USPS United States Army postage stamps honoring the liberation of France, signed across the block in black ink, “L. R. Groves, Maj. Gen. USA.” In fine condition, with a bit of light contrast to signature, as well as some slight skipping over perforations.
