The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction on a polished wood base that shows a Native American man holding a peace pipe to the heavens with his shield and his quiver and bow underneath the shield. The bronze is marked 'Les Welliver' and is numbered in the back 3/30. Les Welliver (1920-1989) was a contemporary American Western sculptor born in North Dakota who lived and worked in Kalispell, Montana. Welliver was best known for his wood carvings of Indians and his Western themed wildlife bronze sculptures. The overall condition of this bronze sculpture is good with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this bronze sculpture are 9" x 8 1/2" x 8 1/4". The collective weight of this bronze sculpture is 7lb.*
