During the war of the Greeks against the Medos,400 Spartans directed by king Leonidas in that defile called Termopilas, tried to resist enough time and to delay the advance of the Persians to Sparta . This is one of the great feats but of military history.

The story was illustrated by master French artist Jaques Louis David, oil painted in 1815, and reproduced by Laugier with the permission of the French Court ( see the Original royal seal of Charles X left down,) almost ten years later,in 1826. Large size of W=33 by H=26.
This is one of those few reproductions, a piece of history you can afford to buy now!
