Prolific American inventor (1873–1961) often referred to as ‘the father of radio’ for his pioneering work in wireless telegraphy. TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, Lee de Forest Laboratories letterhead, June 7, 1938. Letter to Dr. Moses Eisenberg. In part: “We are unable to find any definitive data regarding the actual ohmic resistance of such live structures; the resistance of the dried bones and in cadavers is much too high to be of any value for your purpose. We can only say that the direct current resistance of the structures in which you are interested are probably of the order of 50 ohms or less. The high frequency resistance is of course a different quantity and probably somewhat higher.” An AMA exhibition stamp is affixed near the top, and letter is affixed to an identical size sheet of cardstock. In fine condition, with scattered wrinkles and creases, and a bit of light soiling.
