22 1/4" by 29 1/2" framed. Lee Rommel (20th century) was active/lived in New Mexico, Maine. Lee Rommel is known for Landscape, Indian life. Born and raised in Bangor, Maine, Lee Rommel lived in New York and Puerto Rico before moving to the southwest in 1973. Making her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, she has been painting and teaching for 35 years, inspiring many of her students to become professional artists. Critics have acclaimed her work as "beautifully sensitive, yet strong and skillful". Multi-talented, she works in watercolors, oils, pastels and sculpture. Primarily self-taught, she has had informal instruction with Wilson Hurley, George Lundeen and George Carlson. She has exhibited and won awards in many national juried and invitational shows throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Her work has appeared in Southwest Art, The Santa Fean, Southern Living, Focus and numerous other publications and can be found in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and Europe.
