Ames - Original Art for Fight Comics #19, Complete 7-page Story, "Dusty Rhodes" (Fiction House, 1942).</B></I> Offered here is the complete original art for the very first appearance of Dusty Rhodes, "just a guy who wants to be a marine when he grows up." Of course, Dusty can't help but stumble into adventures, and in this 7-pager, nearly defeats the entire Japanese navy all by his lonesome! Finely rendered by Lee J. Ames, who also contributed to such strips as "Kid Squad" and "Firebrand," the art has a very sophisticated Lou Fine-ish look to it. Ames was certainly one of the great unsung heroes of the Golden Age! The pages measure approximately 17" x 22" overall, and all have the "Eisner & Iger, Ltd." mark at the top. In excellent condition, there is some use of white-out and blue-pencil on each page, but these minor markings hardly detract from this beautiful art. This is a real Golden Age treasure, with plenty of action, adventure, and good old American heroics! <B>Estimate: $500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
