Hand-addressed mailing envelope, 6.25 x 4.5, addressed by Oswald to his mother, “USA, Crowell, Texas, Box 608, Mrs. M. Oswald,” with Oswald adding his return address, in Russian, to the lower left. Envelope is postmarked Minsk, June 28, 1961, and postmarked on the reverse, Crowell, Texas, July 6, 1961. The envelope bears soft lamination, consistent with other official exhibits that were in the government’s possession during the Warren Commission investigation. In fine condition, with some scattered light creasing. Oswald’s time spent in Russia prior to his 1962 return to the United States was a major part of the federal government’s investigation following President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
