Led Zeppelin II album signed on the front cover in blue ballpoint by Jimmy Page, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant, who adds "Frodo Lives." In very good to fine condition, with light soiling, sunning and wear to the spine, and a prior owner's name and address on the back cover. The rare original first pressing vinyl record is included, listing "Lemon Song" and "Livin' Lovin' Wreck" on the label. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from REAL. Plant's addition of "Frodo Lives," a popular counterculture slogan in the 1960s and 1970s, is in keeping with the lyrics to the album's seventh track, 'Ramble On,' a song influenced by J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy masterpiece The Lord of the Rings. In the opening verse, Plant sings: ’Twas in the darkest depths of Mordor / I met a girl so fair / But Gollum and the evil one crept up / And slipped away with her.' Two other Tolkien-inspired songs, 'Misty Mountain Hop' and 'The Battle of Evermore,' can be found on Led Zeppelin's fourth studio album. As there are said to be fewer than thirty known fully signed Led Zeppelin albums extant, this example, augmented all the more by Plant's fantastical phrasing, exists as a true rock history rarity.
