Victorian writing compendium, shaped as briefcase. Grained leather outer, fine pig skin leather interior, with moire fabric in dark green. Compendium has slots for stamps, postcards, letter sheets etc. and pens. There is a lift out book of blotting paper, also covered in moire fabric. This has a typed inscription sheet ?Presented to Miss Marian Price in recognition of her long and faithful services as a Sunday School Teacher in St. Philip?s Parish, and as a token of affection and respect.? it is signed by T.H. Leary, Vicar of St Philips, and Frank White, Superintendent of the Sunday School. Dated January 1899.
Very good condition - inside has one pen mark, and a little wear where the blotter pad has lain on the fabric. Outside has a little minor scuffing to the edges. Largely unused.
Measures 28 cm by 23 cm (11 inches by 9 inches).
