Sauk City, Wisconsin: Arkham House, 1950. <BR> <BR>First edition from an original printing of 553 copies. Twelvemo. 70 pages. <BR><BR>Black buckram with gilt spine lettering. Moderate wear to spine head and tail, with rubbed corners and edges. Initial pastedown bears evidence of a bookplate having been removed, with two roughened sections of paper. Another much smaller roughened section appears on the title page, not affecting any type or text. Original scarce dust jacket is in great shape, bearing artwork by Frank Utpatel. Overall, a fine copy.<BR><BR>As noted by Leon Nielsen: "The cost of printing this slim volume of poetry was subsidized by the author, who, in turn, received 300 copies of the original 553 copies printed. Thus Arkham House had only 253 copies for sale."
