Signed by Marshall, secretary and president [illegible]. 2) The Queen Mining Co. Incorporated in Colorado. Unnumbered, U/I, U/C cert. ca.1880s. Central vignette of two miners with pick axe and ore cart. 3) Omaha and Grand Smelting & Refining Co. Incorporated in Colorado. Cert. #469 U/I, U/C. The company was set up to process ore for Leadville mines. 4)The Colorado Mine Development Co. Incorporated in Colorado. Cert. #508 issued Sept. 29, 1880. U/C. Signed by John Mathews, secretary and John F. Humphreys, president. Placer gold was discovered in the Leadville area in 1860 but was overshadowed in 1877 by silver-bearing lead carbonate.
