Le Soleil de Quebec Newspaper Lottery First prize $5 Gold Coin Three consec tickets
The two portraits are of Canadian Prime Minister Sir Wilfred Laurier (1896-1911) to left, and Quebec Premier Lomer Gouin (1905 -1920). Assuming both these gentlemen were in office at the time, this would date these tickets, which are designed as $5 banknotes, to the period of 1905 - 1911.The Lottery first prize would then be a US $5 gold coin, since Canada's were first produced in 1912. Printed in black on blue paper with wavy underlines, they are serial numbered in red, at both the upper left and right. The three tickets here offered have consecutive serial numbers.
