Lawrence Emmons Architectural panels for the Music and Arts Center, New York USA, c. 1928 cast aluminum 40"w x 55"h The Music and Arts Center, later known as the Barbazon Hotel for Women, was designed by the famed achitects Murgatroyd and Ogden as a home for women who moved to New York in the 1920s seeking new professional opportunities. The Barbizon served as a center for intellectural activites and supported goups such as the Arts Council of New York. The panels presented here illustrate the prevailing Art Deco aesthetic in New York at the time. Murgatroyd and Ogden designed several buildings in New York including Trump Parc Condominiums as well as the Allerton Crown Plaza in Chicago.

All absentee bids are confidential and will be executed competitively.
You may call or fax in absentee bids prior to the day of the sale. All

Phone bids may be arranged by calling the gallery prior to the
day of the sale. There are a limited number of phones lines so we encourage you to arrange phone bids early. All lots must be estimated over $500 to be on the phone.
