Brutal chief of the Soviet Union's NKVD secret police force and powerful deputy to Stalin (1899-1953). DS in Cyrillic, two pages, 8.75 x 7, May 11, 1926. A transcaucasian extraordinary commission order, which places under arrest "Levan Zaharovitch Katsiashvili, 28 years old, citizen of SSRG [Soviet Socialist Republic of Georgia], from the village of Kavtishevi, Tiflis region, peasant, non-party member, convicted of possessions of stolen goods—sale of stolen goods and caught red-handed in such acts." Signed at the conclusion by four representatives, including Lavrentiy Beria, and the accused party. In very good to fine condition, with short tears to the trimmed edges; the document was originally one complete page, but due to its horizontal fold, has since separated into two same-size sheets.
