A large, white, high-gloss glazed sitting deco lady, measuring 11˝ tall and 8˝ wide at the base, designed by the Hamilton sisters for Vernon Kilns. These pieces of art ware are extremely rare in their own right, and are highly sought by collectors. They must also have caught the eye of Tom Little, set decorator for 20th Century Fox (six-time AA winner) as he acquired this, two Saris figures and a flowing hair bust to use in Fox films. One is shown in the Vernon Kilns book with Fox numbers. This piece was first used in Blue, White and Perfect (1941), the fourth of the Michael Shayne, Detective series. Later, it appeared in Jitterbugs with Laurel and Hardy, in Lee Patrick's room, where the boys have lots of business. Interior marked with 20th Century Fox and inventory number, "20th C Fox, B17808, 1430, 2046315.1."
