Laurel and Hardy 1926 Signed Contracts for Five
Laurel and Hardy 1926 Signed Contracts with Hal Roach for Five Years of Employment. Major Hollywood history! These original signed contacts herald the creation and early classic films of the beloved Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy comedy team. The lot contains the five-year contracts both stars signed with Hal Roach -- Laurel's running April of 1927 to April, 1932, Hardy's running February of 1927 to February, 1932. Each contract is five-pages long, details terms and salary information, and has the embossed seal of Hal Roach Studios, Inc. on each page. The stars have signed in ink their respective contracts, as have Hal Roach and studio secretary C.H. Roach. Laurel's contract has some annotation that he and Roach had initialed, as well as the small black stamp of Attorney and Counselor-at-Law Benjamin W. Shipman in the left margin of each page. The years 1927 to early 1932 presented the world some of Laurel and Hardy's most celebrated episodes, such as the pie fight in The Battle of the Century (1927) and the jail break in Pardon Us (1931). It's awesome to review these documents and realize how much international laughter they eventually produced. Excellent condition. Accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
