Blade front and "R" marked ski-ramp sights, with "D" on top of the barrel and "V/ P/ Eagle head/ P" on the left. Low arch breechblock, marked "U.S./ MODEL/ 1873", and lock plate with 3-click tumbler, marked "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD" next to the American Eagle. Straight wrist stock, with a "SWP / 1884" on the left wrist, script "P" on the underside, "22' on the right side of the buttstock and "US" on the buttplate heel.

Finish: blue/casehardened

Condition: Fine, with 40% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, along with scattered spotting and handling marks. Bright, vivid casehardening is visible on the tang and the underside of the breechblock, with some fading to brown on top. Stock is very fine, with dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
