Late production Harper’s Ferry Model 1803 U.S. flintlock half stocked rifle, .60 cal., 36” barrel, 30-1/2” half stock, brass furniture and patchbox. This gun is in overall good to very good condition showing a light brown patina over metal surfaces; very good action, dark bore, rear of lock plate dated 1819 with the eagle stamp in front of the hammer having been removed; the US and P proofs are visible on the left side of the barrel flat at the breech; the brass tipped iron ramrod is present, the wood is very good with proofs stamped behind the trigger guard and a visible cartouche and a visible stamped proof on the left side of the stock above the trigger guard.
