The left side of the slide has the one line "ac45" marking with the right side having an "Eagle/359" proof. The left side of the frame has an "Eagle/140" proof along with the letter "O", a marking that has been observed on FN manufactured frames. The "Eagle/140" proof was the acceptance stamp on FN manufactured P38 parts. The pistol is listed by serial number in Warren Buxton's book THE P.38 PISTOL, Vol. I, page 209, and the FN frame and "Eagle/359" proofed slide are confirmed. Hammer has three wide, deep grooves. Blue finish with phosphate finished small parts. The "P38" marked magazine has an "Eagle/359" proof, "Eagle/WaA706" and "jvd" marked on the spine.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% plus original blue finish with the front grip strap thinned to a brown-gray. The grips are excellent with a few very minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
