Manufactured in 1918 by Colt under contract for the U.S. Army. The left side of the slide is marked in two line, two block address, patent dates with the Rampant Colt in the center, with the reverse marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY/295068", with a circled "JM" inspection mark on the left side. It has the late features such as the checkered slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release and hammer spur with a smooth trigger and main spring housing. It is fitted with a blue barrel marked with a "P" and "H" proofs on top of the chamber area. Unmarked two tone magazine with lanyard on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with a diamond around the screws. Complete with two black leather "US" embossed, 1964 dated Bucheimer flap holsters, one on a canvas belt and the other with an attached "U.S." Milwaukee Saddlery Co., 1946 dated belt loop/shoulder strap attachment.

Condition: Professionally restored. The pistol retains 95% blue finish with some scattered speckled minor pitting on the slide, lower right front side of the frame and a couple of small areas on the front strap. There are some visible milling/grind marks on the frame sides in front and behind the grips. The replacement grips are near mint with a couple minor dings and some very minor wear on the otherwise very crisp checkering. The markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent. The holsters are very good showing some normal flex cracking and wear. The belt is good with some minor fraying around a few of the grommets and some oxidation on a few of the grommets.
