This is a nice example of a late war P38 pistol as produced by the Spreewerke factory that carries the scarce zero-prefix on the serial number. These pistols were all assembled at the very end of WWII using mostly left over spare parts from various storage depots as well as out of tolerance parts from the Spreewerke factory prior to being captured by the Russians. The left side of the slide is marked, "P.38" and "cyq" in front of the serial number. The serial number is also marked on the left side of the frame and the front of the barrel lug. The right side of the barrel lug is also marked "B g" and the left side is marked with the "eagle/88" acceptance proof and "cyq". The locking block is serial numbered to the pistol and it has a single "eagle/88" proof on one side. The grips are the correct wartime brown bakelite versions and this pistol is complete with one unmarked magazine.
