Late WWII Nazi Gustloff K98 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet
Manufactured by the Gustloff factory. The top of the receiver is marked with the "eagle/749" over "bcd", the wartime code for the Gustloff Werke at Weimar and "4" for the year of manufacture and the right side is marked with the Nazi firing proof, an eagle proof and the number "1". The left side receiver wall is marked "Mod 98" and the left rear of the barrel is marked with a Nazi firing proof and the serial number. The rifle has the late war pattern all stamped components to include the welded barrel bands. Blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Phosphate finish with blue bolt assembly and renumbered replacement trigger guard. The stock and handguard are the correct "bcd" produced laminated wartime versions and the stock has the correct single "C" proof on the underside and eagle over "H" on the right rear. The cleaning rod is absent and the rifle is complete with a "clc 44" code bayonet with smooth wooden handle, matching metal scabbard and leather frog marked "0/0384/0011" on the back.

Condition: Very fine as assembled. The rifle retains 95% of the original phosphate finish. The bolt assembly and trigger guard retain 98% original blue finish. The stock is very fine with a number of small minor scratches on the underside and sides of the forearm area, and overall a few minor dings and dents. The barrel bands are both refinished. The bayonet is excellent with thinning finish on the handle hardware and a couple minor scratches on the handle. The scabbard is good with overall minor pitting and the frog is very good. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
