Late WWII Mauser SVW45 K98 Bolt Action Rifle with Sling
This is a very late war rifle produced at the Mauser factory, as a Kreigsmodell. The receiver has the late Waffenamt 135 proofs, over "mod 98" and the late "SVW45" receiver code The Waffenampt proof also appears on the barrel. The receiver and barrel have the correct eagle firing proof on the left side, and there are two small "eagle / 135" proofs on the right side of the receiver. Late war stamped parts and the barrel bands are correctly screwed on and unnumbered. Hooded ramp front sight and adjustable rear tangent sight graduated to 200 meters. The finish is the late war light gray/green phosphate on all parts, except the receiver which is blue, and the stock is unmarked, with the firing pin take down hole in the cupped buttplate. Complete with an original black leather sling.
BBL: 24 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 8 mm
Finish: phosphate/blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 11268a
Condition: Excellent. Most of the original gray/green phosphate finish remains with some thinning to a smooth brown. The receiver retains 90% thin original blue finish with scattered thinning and some high edge wear, with some light pitting and finish touch up on the front exposed section of the barrel. The stock shows the rough, late war machining marks on the sides, with a light coat of varnish added, and remains very good plus with some minor dings and dents. The sling is good showing some age cracking and remains supple. The markings are clear (some highlighted in white). Mechanically excellent. A scarce Nazi proofed SVW45 code rifle.
