Collection of six 14 x 22 cue cards from the historic final show of the Late Show with David Letterman on CBS on May 20, 2015, representing jokes from Letterman's last monologue as one of America's beloved late-night hosts. The cue cards offer some comedic observations on his show and a few incomplete thoughts referencing his longtime bandleader sidekick Paul Shaffer. The cards read: "It's not looking good for me getting‰ÛÓTonight Show‰Û_" (with writer's notes joking about his son: "Keeps saying, 'Why does Daddy have to go to prison"); "From now on, if I screw up, I'll have to go on someone else's show to apologize"; "My son‰ÛÓin aud. tonight‰ÛÓhe's not clear on what's going on"; "Paul and I have been on te"; and "Paul and I ha." In overall fine condition. Consignor notes that these originate from the estate of Kenny Sheehan, a longtime Letterman showhand remembered for cameo appearances in which he read out-of-context Oprah interview transcripts. A great collection representing the end of an era, highlighted by the cue card representing Letterman's opening joke: 'I want to tell you one thing, I'll be honest with you, it's beginning to look like I'm not going to get 'The Tonight Show.''
