Late Post-World War II Model 1896 Mauser Bolo Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is an very fine example of a later post-war standard commercial Model 1896 Mauser pistol. This example has the smaller bolo style frame with the small grips and small ring hammer. These were a continuation of the same pre-war style pistols, only made after WWI. The top of the chamber area is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N" with the commercial "Crown/U" on the left side chamber flat with the serial number on the side. The left rear frame panel has the small "Mauser" inside a banner marking with the right rear side marked with the standard Mauser factory markings " WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A. NECKAR". It is fitted with the short barrel with the banded front side that has the fixed front sight blade with the adjustable rear sights graduated from 50-500 meters. The top rear flat of the bolt is also stamped with the "Crown/U" commercial proof and the hammer has the correct "NS" markings. It is fitted with a set of walnut grips with 22 groove grips with each one numbered "545471" and it is complete with a lanyard loop on the butt with ring.

Manufucture: Mauser
Model: Broomhandle
BBL: 5 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 7.63 mm Mauser auto
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 545472

Very fine with 85% of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear, blue loss on the frame rails, muzzle and lower front section of the magazine. There is some extensive scratching of finish present on the left side of the frame. The grips are fine with both grips having matching numbers with minimal handling marks, the left grip slightly darker than the right grip. Mechanically excellent.
