Late 1940's Randall No. 4 ''Big Game Skinner'', 7'' blade, 12'' overall, with pinned and fingergrooved ivory handle, nicely patinaed brass half guard, and highly desirable seven-spacer stack. Scabbard is marked ''H.H. Heiser, Denver, Colo'' in a circular cartouche over the number 7 (inches of the blade). Scabbard features red translucent snap buttons marked with Randall logo and address, and two steel rivets at throat. (Red translucent buttons were used from approx. 1946-1950, Heiser scabbards were used from approx. 1949-1952, and the Model 4 was introduced in 1945.) Condition is fine with general scuffs from sharpening, pleasing tone to handle, and expertly repaired fissure eminating from tang pin. Scabbard shows moderate overall toning probably from oil. Male snap end of snap on keeper strap is split about halfway thru. Light to moderate nips to fold-over portion of belt loop (possibly puppy bites). Male snap portion of stone pocket has lifted away from vertig!
