Late 1930's St. Louis Browns Game Worn Jacket.
Late 1930's St. Louis Browns Game Worn Jacket. Though the "other" St. Louis club was a perpetual bottom-dweller during the era of this jacket's use, there's no denying the tremendous aesthetic and collecting appeal of Browns uniforms. In fact, the team that would become the Baltimore Orioles remains a favorite among many hobbyists, particularly those looking for a challenge. Browns material is famously difficult, particularly those pieces dating prior to the Second World War. Here we find a garment that is sure to start its own war--a bidding one--among serious collectors, a gorgeous letterman-style jacket likely worn by some combination of the following: Bobo Newsom, Walt Judnich and Mike Kreevich. All sported the Browns' number "12," which is sewn just above the left sleeve cuff in brown and orange numerals, during the probable period of this jacket's multi-season use. A fantastic chenille logo "St.L" appears over the heart on the brown nylon ribbed body, and tri-tone elasticized cuffing encircles the collar and ends of the suede sleeves. "King Sportswear" tagging inside collar. A small amount of damage at the fourth button does not materially affect aesthetic display. Otherwise the jacket presents beautifully, remaining in fine, wearable condition. LOA from Lou Lampson.

Shipping: Clothing, Costumes & Jerseys (view shipping information)
