Signed "<I>Larry Niven</B></I>" on the title page. First published in paperback form in the United States in 1968, this is the first hardcover edition of Niven's first collection of stories. Seven of the eight stories in this collection were first published by the Galaxy Publishing Corporation in either <I>Worlds of If</B></I> or <I>Galaxy</B></I> magazine. The title story of this collection won the 1967 Hugo Award for Best Short Story. The copy presented here is in about fine condition, with minimal soiling to the textblock edges. There is only the most minor wear to the edges, corners, and spine. The dust jacket shows some sunning to the spine and mild foxing and light soiling on the panels.
