When the town puts Rawhide in jail and lowers their guard, their livestock become easy pickings for the real Maverick. But with the deception revealed, the Kid goes free, and he accepts the pleas of the townfolk to help them bring the rustler to justice. The opening caption promises "action, danger and mystery," and while the mystery won't fool anyone for long, the action is often quite well done, with scenes of deadly gunplay and mounted chases through a western landscape that are particularly effective. The art area is 12.5" x 18.5" on approximately 14" x 21" pages. The pages are very well preserved, with minimal white-out, and marginal notes in graphite and blue pencil. <I>From the personal collection of Larry Lieber.</B></I> <B>Estimate: $2,500-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment.
