Famed swing sensation and saxophonist, Larry Elgart personally owned custom Yamaha Soprano YSS ''875'' saxophone -- with an 8.5'' x 11'' matte signed photo of Elgart smiling and holding his sax, and a letter of authenticity stating his ownership of it. As brothers, Larry and Les Elgart formed the successful ''Les & Larry Elgart Band'' and in 1954, recorded their own version of Charles Albertine's ''Bandstand Boogie,'' which became the ''American Bandstand'' theme song. Straight-body saxophone, measuring 23'' with a 3.75'' diameter base, is in brand-new condition, with a gold neck and an engraved serial number reading ''001350.'' The hand-hammered straight body gives this custom saxophone its beautiful tone. Sax includes four separate parts and is housed in its original brown leather Yamaha case measuring 25'' x 8.5'', with a plush red velvet interior. Elgart's various sax accouterments are included, with two unopened boxes of Vandoren soprano sax mouthpieces and an unopened package of Yamaha polishing cloths. Fine condition.
