Large semi-clip point Bowie knife by Marches and Shepherd Pond Works, Sheffield with “W” and Crown “R” markings. Circa approx. 1830-1837. Approx 17-1/4” overall with 11-1/4” blade of heavy stock (5/32”). Blade has a pronounced false edge (sharpened) with file work blade back. The blade is in good condition and show some cleaning, minor pitting, and sharpening. The hilt has been professionally restored and fluted ivory grip replated.
