(NBC-TV, 1962-1992) A large single panel of Johnny Carson’s memorable monologue curtains measuring 16 ft. tall x 13 ft. long featuring alternating brightly-colored panels of royal-blue, powder-blue, burnt-orange, chocolate-brown, beige, gold, and pale-pink with cloth ties along the top and a weighted chain within a sewn sleeve at the bottom to ensure they hang perfectly. The “King of Late Night” would emerge from such curtains when he was introduced at the opening of each show with the immortal words, “Here’s Johnny!” and would stand in front of them as he delivered his trademark monologue throughout the mid-1970s to the early-1980s on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. These curtains also served as backdrop for many emerging stand-up comics of this era, who would perform on the program and literally become household names overnight such as David Letterman, Jay Leno & Jerry Seinfeld. They would add significance and style to a home theater, a great room or lobby. Acquired from Carson Productions.
